Matador's
first foal of the new season
Matador's
first foal of the new season has been born here at Pickmere -
a stunning filly foal out of Seren Ella (by Westacre Concerto)
owned by Mrs. S. Crow; mother and baby are doing well despite
the horrible weather. Hope none of you are under water - although
our fields are wet enough at least we are not prone to flooding
as we know some of you are.
During 2002
the Stud will be undertaking a European Marketing campaign - this
is nearly unheard of for Pony Stud in Britain and we are pleased
to be in the forefront of this initiative which we hope will lead
not only to increased business for the Stud but also for our clients,
as European enthusiasts realise how accessible English Ponies
are. With our good friends at Blue Rose Horse Transport able to
ferry stock anywhere in Europe with first class care and attention
we are confident that we can meet the requirement of our EU neighbours.
The campaign kicks off in Germany in May.
As the first
show schedules start to hit the doormat we are amazed at the number
of shows which have changed from their traditional dates. It is
certainly going to be a funny season showing at Derby County and
Shropshire in June !!
Nevertheless
we have an outstanding string of Ponies and Hacks which we are
looking forward to getting out. We still have one or two vacancies
for Show Production and please note that Brightwells have two
major Pony sales this year both at Malvern on 3rd July and 5th
September - book early if you want ponies produced for these sales
!!
Pickmere Dancing
Queen by Matador ex Dykebeck wild Thistle and now owned by Mrs
K Langtree is to be produced by Jerome Harforth this year. Her
connections have high hopes for her after a very successful series
of foal shows in 2001 - she is a full sister to Super Trooper
who you will find on our youngstock for sale page on the website
- http://www.pickmerestud.co.uk and don't forget that the site
is now fully updated including music so why not pay us a visit.
